GET THE GUIDE TO ART IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY!
Now Available: New “Art Galleries: Westchester County” Brochure

(September 17, White Plains, NY) -- Picasso tapestries, Cropsey landscapes, Warhol pop art, and a refreshing contemporary selection of works by emerging artists…all have a home in Westchester County, NY. A new brochure, “Art Galleries: Westchester County” provides information on over 40 art galleries and museums, a county map and events calendar.

The Westchester Arts Council and the Westchester County Office of Tourism collaborated on printing 20,000 copies of this first edition of the Art Galleries brochure. The Westchester Arts Council received funding for this project from the Cultural Tourism Initiative, a project of the Arts & Business Council of New York and the New York State Council on the Arts.

The galleries listed in the brochure include independently-owned spaces that showcase the works of established and emerging regional and national artists; several which are located within public parks or nature centers, and those located within major cultural or historic sites.

The brochure includes a county map that identifies the location of each in relation to other major points of interest throughout the county. A month-by-month calendar lists major annual events related to the visual arts.

“Visitors can use this guide to plan a day enjoying Hudson River School paintings, acquiring works for their private collections, or even attending events like the Armonk Outdoor Art Show,” said Margo Jones, Director of the Westchester County Office of Tourism. “These are perfect activities to enjoy in the upcoming fall and winter.”

“Westchester’s visual arts scene is thriving,” adds Janet T. Langsam, Executive Director of the Westchester Arts Council. “From Peekskill to Yonkers, artists are creating innovative and exciting work. We are thrilled that the Arts & Business Council was able to support the creation of this valuable guide to locating and exploring our County’s galleries.”
